JACKSON, Tenn. - Freshman
Chase Pochylko claimed his first Top 20 finish with another even round as the Nicholls State University men's golf team completed play Tuesday in the Grover Page Classic, hosted by UT Martin at the Jackson Country Club.
Pochylko entered the final round 1-under after shooting a 71 and 72 on Monday. He drained a team-high four birdies in Tuesday's action to negate four bogeys, ending in a tie for 19th place on the leaderboard with a 215. Â
For the team portion, Nicholls turned in an 897 after totaling a 302 in the final round. The Colonels edged Tennessee State (899) by two strokes, as well as finishing ahead of Eastern Illinois (950). Host UT Martin took the team crown with an 841, shooting eight strokes better than Missouri State.
After carding a career round on Monday, senior
Mickael Najmark posted a 79 for a 224.
Diego Prat Cruza was four strokes behind overall at 228 while
Zachary Morvant (231) and
Collin Jones (245) rounded out the team scores. Jones had the lone eagle on the day on the par 5 No. 17.
Competing as an individual, freshman
Dylan Weber had his best showing with a 2-over 74 on Tuesday. He matched Prat Cruza with a 228.
Missouri State's Hampus Wijkstrom was one stroke shy of the tournament record with a 14-under 202 to win medalist honors.Â
