MATHEWS, La. - Chase Pochylko shot a 4-under in the final round to claim his second consecutive Top 20 finish while
Kyle Traub also finished under par at 2-under as the Nicholls State University men's golf team concluded its fall schedule in the annual LaTour Intercollegiate.
With both finishing under par for the round, Nicholls carded its best round with an even 288. The Colonels shot a 289 in Monday's opening round before shooting a 296 in the second. Nicholls placed seventh out of 12 teams, trailing Stephen F. Austin by three strokes.
Pochylko turned in a bogey-free round on Tuesday to climb 15 spots, tying for 14th with a 1-under for the event. Traub had three birdies before tallying a bogey on his final hole. He ended the tournament at 3-over.
James Bould led the Colonels who competed as individuals with a 217. He opened with a 71 and 74 before shooting an even 72 on Tuesday.
"It was a nice final round for our guys," said Nicholls head coach
James Schilling. "It was an excellent event as the entire staff at LaTour gave all tournament participants a first-class experience. Special thanks to Logan Ray and his staff at The Louisiana Golf Association for their support of the tournament."
South Dakota claimed the team crown with a 14-under while LSU's Nick Arcement won medalist honors with a 9-under 207.
