Jake Dalmado received Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week following his four-sack performance in the win over McNeese.
Dalmado also repeated as Stats Perform FCS National Defensive honorable mention. Punter
Kylan Dupre also earned honorable mention for special teams.
Coming off a three-sack game, Dalmado totaled four more against McNeese including one for a safety. After Nicholls pinned McNeese at the 1 on a punt, Dalmado had two tackles to keep the Cowboys inside the 5 before his sack gave the Colonels an early 2-0 lead. Dalmado totaled 10 tackles in the victory with 4.0 sacks, three hurries and a breakup. Dalmado now leads the SLC with nine sacks on the season.
Dupre had four punts inside the 20 including his first which was downed at the 1, leading to Dalmado's safety. Dupre also had one downed at the 8 and booted another for 56 yards to the 17 which was returned for a 4-yard loss.  For the season, Dupre has 14 punts downed inside the 20.
