Tanita Swift continued her stout play and was named Southland Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the second consecutive week, as the league announced its weekly honors on Monday afternoon.
In the win over Alcorn Swift shot 9-17 (.529) from the field and hit 10 foul shots to pour in 28 points while adding eight rebounds and five assists to lead the Colonels to victory. On Friday night she hit seven field goals including two triples to score 19 points to bring her season average to a SLC-best 18.
The Birmingham, Alabama native is a force on both ends of the floor as she registered seven steals across the two contests and is now one of two players in the SLC averaging over 3 steals per game (3.2).
