FRISCO, Texas – Nicholls State University men's tennis senior Omar Morsy has won this week's Jersey Mike's Southland Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week award, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Morsy went 2-0 at No. 1 singles for the week, highlighted by a victory against Lamar for the Colonels' first league win of the season. Morsy outlasted Lamar's Martin Garcia-Ripoll in three sets as the Colonels cruised to a 6-1 victory. Morsy then added a straight-set victory at Jackson State on Monday. 

Morsy is the second Colonel to win the men's award this year, joining Harry Collins who is 10-2 in singles for the season.
