FRISCO, Texas - Nicholls State University softball senior Audrey McNeill received the Southland Conference's final Pitcher of the Week Award of the season, giving her three weekly honors for the year. 

A native of Plano, Texas, McNeill is the only pitcher in the league to be named SLC Pitcher of the Week three times. It was also her fourth weekly award in her two seasons with the Colonels.

McNeill closed out the regular season with a pair of three-hit shutouts against her former squad, going 2-0 with 15 strikeouts in 14 innings of work against the Islanders. In a pitchers duel against reigning SLC Pitcher of the Year Primrose Aholelei, McNeill struck out eight in the Colonels' 2-0 win in the series opener. She followed with seven strikeouts for a 1-0 victory on Senior Day, securing the team's third sweep in SLC play and giving Nicholls the No. 3 seed for the second straight year.

As the No. 3 seed, Nicholls opens play in the Southland Conference Tournament on Tuesday at 6 p.m. The Colonels will play the winner of No. 6 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and No. 7 HCU.
