THIBODAUX, La. - Following his breakout performance in the win in Saturday's home opener, Nicholls State Univerisity true freshman running back
Miequle Brock earned Stats Perform FCS National Freshman Player of the Week honorable mention.
Brock scored three touchdowns in his Colonel debut against Mississippi Valley State, rushing for 132 yards on just eight carries while adding an 80-yard catch-and-run for another score. On the fourth play of the game, Brock took his first career carry and turned it into a highlight run for a 33-yard touchdown. He then caught a swing pass in the second quarter and raced 80 yards down the sideline for a TD. Brock capped his day with a 68-yard touchdown run in the third.
The Pensacola, Florida native is the first Colonel to rush for 100 yards in their debut since Julien Gums in 2018.
