THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University cross country teams had a strong showing in the sixth annual Nicholls XC Invitational presented by Walk-On's at Nicholls Farm on Saturday morning.
For the women's squad that finished fourth out of 14 teams,
Maria Nikolaou was the first Colonel and 10th competitor to finish the women's 5K with a time of 18:26.76.
Issy Rivault and
Kassidy Besson clocked times of 18:42.01 and 18:56.84 to place 14th and 19th while
Avery Guidry (19:51.09) and
Ana Letran Cartes (20:16.89) finished 26th and 29th.
The men's squad finished fifth out of 15 teams and were led by
Lucas Futey who finished the four-mile course in 20:46.51 to place 18th.
Brady Sins (21:28.35) and
William Nizzo (21:52.40) were the next two Colonels to cross the finish line to place 27th and 32nd while
Goran Duijsters (22:05.49) placed 35th.
