THIBODAUX, La. – After four consecutive games away from home, the Nicholls State University baseball team will return home to host HCU on April 4-6. Friday and Saturday's action from Ben Meyer Diamon at Ray E. Didier Field will begin at 6 p.m. respectively, while Sunday's first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Nicholls (11-18, 5-10 SLC) has dropped four of their last five contests as they beat No.13 Southern Miss (8-5) in Biloxi before being swept by Northwestern State in Natchitoches. The Red & Gray are batting .261 in league play as the unit has recorded 130 hits, 70 RBIs, and 21 doubles over 15 games.
Aaron Biediger leads the team with a .356 average and .885 OPS, while
Chase Jans has hit .333 with six RBIs.
Jaden Collura has driven in 16 runs while hitting .315 with four doubles.
HCU (18-9, 10-2 SLC) enters the series sitting atop the SLC standings, hitting .341 as a team in conference play to lead all teams while boasting a .905 team OPS. After sweeping Stephen F. Austin last weekend, the Huskies lost at Baylor (2-3) before earning a victory over Prairie View A&M (15-13) in a high scoring affair earlier this week.
