THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University baseball team will conclude its multi-game home stand by hosting No. 3 LSU on Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field on Tuesday, April 8. Gates will open at 5 p.m., first pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., and the action will be live streamed via ESPN+.
Nicholls (12-20, 6-12 SLC) is concluding a quick four game home stand as over the weekend they took game one of their series against HCU on Friday night before dropping a double header on Saturday.
The Red & Gray offense is led by

Chase Jans (.295) who combine for 107 hits and 49 RBI. On the mound,
Alec Sparks (2.98) leads the unit in strikeouts (44) while allowing a .209 batting average.
LSU (30-3, 10-2 SEC) is currently on an eight-game winning streak that include series sweeps of Mississippi State and No. 9 Oklahoma. The Tigers have seven players hitting over .300 as they are led Jared Jones (.397) and Derek Curiel (.390) who have combined for 98 hits and 76 RBI.
The Colonels have five victories over the Tigers dating back to 2008. The most recent victory was in 2023 while the last home victory for the Red & Gray was in 2020.
