THIBODAUX, La. – Nicholls State University cross country/track and field coach Stefanie Slekis announced 2025 recruiting class that features 20 student-athletes.
 
Slekis is excited about the new signees and how their skill sets can improve the team.
 
"We are really excited about our Fall 2025 incoming newcomers. This is our strongest men's cross country signing class in two decades. The mileage they plan to run this summer and what they already have accomplished in high school both in cross country and on the track has us very excited about the future of our men's program. Across men's track & field, women's track & field, and women's cross country in addition to men's cross country It will be exciting to see not only how these freshmen can impact our program in their first year, but the development they will have over the next 4 years. On the men's track & field side we are very excited about the leadership transfer Trent Granberry will immediately bring to our sprints group. He is an excellent communicator, is willing to contribute on both relays, excited to represent Nicholls, and support his teammates anyway he can. We are coming off one of our best recent years as a program with our women's indoor and outdoor All-Time top 10 list in Track & Field seeing 16 and 18 new top performers and our men setting a school record in the 4 X 400m relays and putting up other personal bests that we believe are in our men's top 5 all-time as well. We are excited to put out a Men's All-Time top 5 list this year and see what alumni reach out for any marks we are missing and to give our current men's team a bigger list to chase to solidify themselves in Colonel history. Additionally on the men's track & field side we are excited to see how the ED White Duo of Logan Dennin, Javelin, and Benjamin Rodrigue, Triple & Long Jump can make an immediate impact for our field events.
