NEW ORLEANS, La. - After battling cold and windy conditions on Monday, the Nicholls State University men's golf team posted the fifth-best score of the final round on Tuesday to wrap up their first spring event at the Gulf Coast Collegiate at English Turn.
For the final 18, Nicholls carded a 299 with only first-place Augusta, runner-up Loyola Chicago, St. John's and Central Arkansas posting better scores. The Colonels totaled a 944 after firing 322 and 323 in Monday's first and second rounds to take 10th out of 15 teams.
Jack Moro led the Colonels with a top-20 finish, tying for 14th with a 229. Moro started off with a 78 and 79 before turning in an even 72 on Tuesday.
Kyle Traub had the lone under-par round for the Red and Gray, shooting a 2-under 70 in his final 18 holes. He was bogey free on the front to go along with four birdies, and added another birdie on the back. He came in tied for 26th with a 233.
Chase Pochylko was right behind with a 234 and totaled four birdies, while
Zachary Morvant and
Alston Manne shot 258.

The Colonels will head to Houston next week for the Colin Montgomerie Invitational, starting on Monday, March 2.
