Tanita Swift was named to the 2026 Southland Conference All-Defensive Team as the league office announced its post season superlatives on Friday afternoon.
Swift was a two-way force for the Colonels this season as she averaged 9.5 points and 2.4 steals per contest. Despite only playing in the 22 conference games, she was one of 10 players in the league to record more than 50 steals (53). Her 2.4 spg average is tied for second in the SLC.
The Birmingham, Alabama native had multiple steals in 15 games including a season high eight in a victory over HCU in December. She also had six takeaways in a victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in early February.
