JONESBORO, Ark. - The Nicholls State University men's golf team competed in its final event of the regular season, taking 11th in the Arkansas State Spring Invitational on April 13-14 at the RidgePointe Country Club.
Competing as an individual,
Ethan Marx led the Colonels by tying for 25th with a 222, highlighted by a 72 (E) in the final round. Marx improved by two strokes in each round, carding a 76 before sinking four birdies for a 74 in round 2, and four more birdies in his final 18 holes.
Robert Leo Arnorsson also shot an even round, opening up the event with a 72. He shot 75 and 79 in his final two rounds, tying for 34th with a 226. Arnorsson carded an eagle on the Par 5 fifth hole on Monday.
For the rest of the lineup,
Kyle Traub posted a 229 (77-76-76) and was followed by
James Bould with a 230 (80-80-70). Bould had the best round for the Colonels in his finale, finishing with two birdies and 16 pars for a 2-under.
Jack Moro finished with a 231 (76-77-78) and
Chase Pochylko had a 242 (85-77-80).
As a team, Nicholls shot a 913 (305-305-303) and finished two strokes behind Missouri State. Host Arkansas State took the team title with an 839.
Up Next
Nicholls will take part in the Southland Conference Championship, starting Monday, April 20 through Wednesday. The tournament will be held at Comanche Trace in Kerrville, Texas.
