2024 Season (Senior): Started 58 games at first base...became first player in program history to be named Southland Conference Player of the Year... named All-Southland First Team, All-Defensive, and All-Tournament... posted the nation’s ninth best batting average (.405), 22nd most hits (92), 37th most doubles (21), and hits 53 walks allowed him to boast the 14th best on base percentage (.514)... had one of the best seasons in program history as he set single-season records for runs scored (76), RBI (67), and total bases (154)... first Colonel since 1963 to post a batting average over .400. and his 92 hits are the second most in the single season in program history... had 29 multi-hit games, including a career-high four hits in home matchup against Tulane... put together a 21-game hitting streak... reached base safely in the first 57 games, pushing his streak to 63 consecutive games... hit go-ahead three-run home runs in the ninth inning at UIW and against UC Irvine in the NCAA Regional... had a career-high six RBI in win over NCAA Tournament participant Grambling, finishing with 10 RBI in the doubleheader... along with all of the SLC Honors he was a semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy and a ABCA/Rawlings All-South Regional First Team selection... named to two All-America teams -- ABCA/Rawlings Second Team and Perfect Game Third Team.
2023 Season (Junior): Started all 54 games played... named All-Southland First Team, All-Defensive, and All-Tournament... also garnered Southland All-Academic First Team... finished in top 10 in the Southland in batting with a .330 average... also ranked in the top 10 in doubles (17) while finishing with seven homers and 39 RBIs... hit three triples, including one in the NCAA Regional against Alabama... finished with 31 walks and three hit-by-pitches... had one sacrifice fly... totaled 41 runs scored... was second on the team with 22 multi-hit games... hit a walkoff single in the 14th inning to advance the Colonels in the Southland Conference Tournament in their 3-2 win over McNeese.
2022 Season (Sophomore): Played primarily at first base and saw time at third... started all 50 games played... finished with the fifth highest batting average on the team at .290... tied for fourth in the Southland with 49 RBIs... tied for the team lead with 11 doubles and nine home runs... Â totaled 31 walks and six hit-by-pitches... added five sacrifice flies... had a two-homer game at UIW (4/24)... record a pair of two-double games against Tulane and New Orleans... went 4-for-5 at the plate with a double in tournament finale against UIW.
At Seminole State (2021): Spent one season with the Raiders... hit .301 with 15 doubles, three home runs and 33 RBIs... posted a four-hit game in the opener against Pensacola State... drove in four runs in win over Florida State Jacksonville.
At Boone High: Was a three-time All-Metro Team selection.
Personal: Born Feb. 19 in Orlando... parents are Maria and Edgar Alvarez... has four siblings - Alex Alvarez, and Billy, Roxanne and Marcia Neal ... majoring in interdisciplinary studies.
