2024 Season (Senior): Named Southland Conference Relief Pitcher of the Year and All-Southland First Team...and two time SLC Pitcher of the Week...finished with a 7-4 record and two saves with a 4.32 ERA in 73 innings of work... He was one of eight SLC pitchers with at least six victories and ranks seventh in ERA in the league and 11th in opponent batting average (.268). Saltaformaggio struck out eight in 7.1 innings of relief in a win at UIW and earned a win against first-place Lamar with six shutout innings out of the bullpen. Additionally logged saves at HCU and against McNeese.
2023 Season (Junior): One of the Colonels’ top relief pitchers, racking up 56.0 innings with a 5-2 record and a 3.70 ERA... notched three saves... posted two wins over Southeastern and one at McNeese. Nonconference wins were at No. 1 LSU and vs. NCAA Participant Penn... tossed 3.0 hitless innings in victory at LSU... had an impressive showing in 19-inning win at Lamar, holding the Cardinals hitless in 7.1 innings of relief... threw five-plus shutout innings in 14-inning tournament win at McNeese... struck out 45 batters and registered a .226 opponent batting average... named Southland All-Academic for the second straight season.
2022 Season (Sophomore): Pitched in 18 games with eight starts... finished with a 3-1 record and a 5.01 ERA... posted 46 strikeouts and 24 walks in 55.2 innings... had the fourth most innings on the team... opponents had a .290 batting average... had two six-plus innings appearances, striking out a career-high 11 in the game against Mississippi Valley State (2/25).
2021 Season (Freshman): Made 24 appearances out of the bullpen... posted a 2-0 record with a 4.66 ERA... totaled 26 strikeouts versus just eight walks in 29.0 innings... allowed 15 earned runs... opponents hit .294... picked up a victory in his first career appearance, throwing 2.2 innings with four strikeouts in the opening win over Eastern Illinois (2/20)... tossed four shutout innings and fanned five in extra innings victory over HBU (3/27).
High School/Prep: Attended Holy Cross High School in New Orleans, La. ... competed on the varsity baseball program for three seasons ... logged a 3-0 record along with 26 strikeouts during the shortened 2020 campaign.
