Badosa-Soler posts top score in second day of Duck Commander

EL DORADO, Ark. – Nicholls State University junior Albert Badoso-Soler carded a career round of 3-under 69, highlighted by an eagle on hole 11, to lead all golfers in Day 2 of the Duck Commander Intercollegiate.

Badosa was the lone player in the 60-person field to shoot under 70 on the day. He soared up the individual standings, moving up 27 spots to a tie for 26th after shedding 16 strokes off his score on Sunday.

Teeing off on 10, Badosa's big day started at 11 as he eagled the par-4, 331-yard hole. He added a birdie on 12 and closed out the back with a birdie to finish 2-under. After the turn, he sank birdies on 3 and 5 before bogeying on 6 to wrap up the round with a career-best 69.

Despite the round by Badosa and a seven-shot overall improvement, the Colonels were unable to move up the standings, staying at 10th after shooting a 307 for a two-round score of 621. Nicholls enters the final round just four strokes behind Houston Baptist and Louisiana Tech for a tie for eighth. Little Rock took over the team lead by one stroke over Stephen F. Austin with a 591.

Baker Stevenson had the second-best day for the Colonels with a 6-over 78, while Jack Lee shot a 79. Yesterday's team-leader, Peyton McCulloch, slipped down to 31st place with an 81 and Josh Fullilove shot an 83.
