Colonels wrap up fall in Duck Commander Intercollegiate

EL DORADO, Ark. –  The Nicholls State University golf team completed it fall schedule on Tuesday with its final round of the Duck Commander Intercollegiate at the Mystic Creek Golf Course.
 
Nicholls finished the three-day event with a 936 for 10th out of 10 teams after shooting a 315 on Tuesday, which was its highest round of the week. The Colonels ended two strokes behind Houston Baptist, and Arkansas State shot an 895 to win the team crown by two strokes.
 
Senior Peyton McCulloch led Nicholls in the final day and for the tournament, shooting a 1-over 73 for a three-round score of 228, which put him in 18th place. McCulloch shot even on the back and 1-over on the front, finishing with three birdies.
 
Monday's leader, Albert Badosa-Soler, shot a 5-over for the round to card a 231, tying for 23rd. Baker Stevenson shot an 81 (239) and Jack Lee ended with an 84 (242).
 
Arkansas State's Tanner Napier won the medalist honor with a 5-under 211.
 
Nicholls will have a few months off before starting its spring schedule in February in the annual Atchafalaya Intercollegiate in Patterson, La.
