THIBODAUX, La. – Coming off a thrilling 14-7 victory over Stony Brook University on Monday, the Nicholls State University baseball team travels to Texas to compete in the Kleberg Bank College Classic, facing Texas A&M – Corpus Christi Friday, No. 21 Mississippi State University Saturday and UC-Santa Barbara Sunday on Whataburger Field.
Whataburger Field is home to the Corpus Christi Hooks, the Double-A minor league affiliate of the Houston Astros. Directions to the park can be found

online with Sam Levitt on the call. Friday's contest against Corpus Christi can be viewed online for free on the

The Colonels (1-3) totaled 15 hits in their most recent victory over the Seawolves. Seven different student-athletes recorded a hit, highlighted by three from seniors
Joey Morales and
Gage Teer. Freshman outfielder
Dane Simon went 2-4, accumulating four RBIs and three runs.
Nicholls will keep its same rotation on Friday and Saturday, throwing senior
Alex Ernestine and Paris Junior College transfer
Parker White, respectively. The move to the bullpen has bode well for senior
Cayden Hatcher thus far, allowing no runs in 3.2 innings pitched with two strikeouts.
Junior infielder
Ethan Valdez, a preseason All-SLC Second Team selection, provided the best bat against SBU, hitting .571 (8-14) with a double. Senior
Lee Clark and Teer each drove in a team-high five runs. The Colonels have hit 2.0 doubles per game, ranking second in the Southland Conference behind Abilene Christian (2.3).
