Final Stats CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The Nicholls State University baseball team gave up 13 runs in the first four innings of a 14-4 defeat to No. 21 Mississippi State Saturday in its second game of the 2018 Kleberg Bank College Classic on Whataburger Field.
The Bulldogs (3-3) tallied four runs in the first and put up eight in the fourth on eight hits. Senior shortstop
Joey Morales accounted for all four Nicholls runs, hitting a three-run homer to left field in the fifth and an RBI single in the ninth that scored freshman
Waylon LeBlanc.
Joining Morales with multiple hits were seniors

Gage Teer.
Junior
Parker White (0-1) was handed the loss, allowing four runs (zero earned) in the first inning. Sophomore
Zach Autin was the lone bright spot out of the bullpen, tossing 2.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts.
Ethan Small (1-1) picked up the win for MSU, allowing zero earned runs in six innings and recording eight strikeouts. Denver McQuary notched the three-inning save.
The Colonels (1-5) conclude the tournament Sunday against UC-Santa Barbara. First pitch is scheduled for 11 a.m.
