MOBILE, Ala. – The Nicholls State University men's golf team ended play in the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate in sixth place out of 15 teams after Tuesday's final 18 holes were canceled due to weather.
Nicholls shot 287 in each round yesterday for a 574 2-under, finishing just a stroke behind Texas State for fifth. The Colonels were separated by five strokes for seventh, which was shared by four teams including Louisiana-Lafayette and former Southland member Oral Roberts. Florida State won the event at 23-under (553).
Senior
Baker Stevenson paced Nicholls with a 67-75--142 (-2), tying for 17th place. His 5-under opening round was a career best and placed him tied for first through the first 18 holes.
Freshman
Loic Maigret was close behind with a 72-71-143 (-1), tying for 20th.
Connor Campbell tied for 38th at +1 (72-73--145) and
Jack Lee was two strokes behind (76-71).
Ben Baker (+8) totaled a 152 (80-72).
LaTOUR INTERCOLLEGIATE
The Colonels will return to the LaTour Club on Monday, Feb. 18 for the two-day LaTour Intercollegiate. Monday's action will begin at 8 a.m.
