NEW ORLEANS - Former Nicholls State University men's golfer Josh Fullilove shot a 2-under 286 to take eighth place in the 101st Louisiana Amateur Championships, held at the Bayou Oaks at City Park - South Course from June 11-14.

Fullilove, who played at Nicholls from 2013-17, posted rounds of 72, 73, 69, and 72 to earn a top-10 finish. He finished seven strokes behind John Humphries, who won the event for the second consecutive time.

A native of Larose, Louisiana, Fullilove climbed up the leaderboard on Saturday with his 3-under 69. After tallying a bogey on hole 2, he recorded four birdies and pars the rest of the way. He totaled 14 birdies in the four rounds.

Jack Lee also competed in the event and shot a 304 to place 55th. Lee, who was at Nicholls from 2015-2019, was one of only 60 golfers to make the cut after Friday's action, helped by eight birdies in the first two days. His low round was a 2-over 74 on Thursday.

The Louisiana Golf Association Amateur Championship is the most prestigious of the organization's championships, having been conducted every year since 1920. Entries are open to any Louisiana resident who is an amateur golfer holding membership in a LGA member club in good standing. Entrants must possess a certified World Handicap Index of 8.0 or less.
