CHOUDRANT, La. - The Nicholls State University men's golf start began its 2023-24 season with 18 holes on Sunday in the Argent Financial Classic, hosted by Louisiana Tech at the Squire Creek Country Club.
With three freshmen seeing their first action along with sophomore
Zachary Morvant and veteran
Mickael Najmark, the Colonels posted a 315 for the round, trailing Lamar University by 13 strokes. The other 14 teams shot below 300, including Central Arkansas with an event-best 279.
Najmark led Nicholls with two birdies and matched rookie
Chase Pochylko with a 77 to turn in the lowest round for the Red and Gray.
Thomas Danielson, who also had a pair of birdies, totaled an 80 with Morvant (81) and
Jack Moro (83) finishing close behind.
Middle Tennessee's Owen Stamper led all golfers with a 6-under 66.Â
