KINDER, La. - Chase Pochylko fired two rounds under par including a 4-under 68 in the final 18, finishing just outside the top 10, as the Nicholls State University men's golf team concluded its regular season by hosting the Koasati Pines Intercollegiate at the Koasati Pines Golf Course.
Pochylko started the event with a 77 before carding sub-70 scores at 69 and 68. At one stretch in the final round, he made five consecutive birdies and went on to finish with a 214 for the three rounds.
Diego Prat Cruza and
Dylan Weber also shot under par in a round. Cruza matched Pochylko in the second round with a 3-under while Weber posted a 2-under 70 in Tuesday's final round. With his and Pochylko's rounds, Nicholls moved up two spots on the team leaderboard as the Colonels finished with an 879.
Cruza was the second highest finisher for the Colonels at 218, tying for 23rd. He was close followed by Weber's 220 which placed him in a tie for 27th.
Thomas Danielson turned in a 231 while
Jack Moro shot a 234. Competing as an individual,
Collin Jones shot a 246.
Southeastern came away with the team title, beating Stephen F. Austin by three strokes. SFA's Jaxon Griffith and Texas Southern's Liam ORourke were co-medalists as both finished at 8-under 208.

Nicholls will take part in the Southland Conference Championship, starting Monday, April 22 in Kerrville, Texas.
