SEMMES, Ala. - The Nicholls State University men's golf team played in its final multi-day event of the regular season and finished up with a low-round 292 to take 11th in the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate.
The Colonels started off with a 297 on Sunday and shot a 305 in the second round, which started late on Monday due to weather and finished up Tuesday morning. Nicholls ended the event with an 8-over to move up one spot in the standings, beating Stephen F. Austin by a stroke.
Kyle Traub was the top finisher for the Colonels, shooting a 219 to tie for 33rd. He and
Jack Moro both shot 1-under in the final round. Moro finished three strokes behind for the event with a 222.
For the rest of the lineup,
James Bould carded a 224 and was followed by
Chase Pochylko (230) and
Peyton Canter (240). Bould had a low-round 71 on Sunday.Â
Host South Alabama won the event by 12 strokes and Hugo Thyr took medalist honors for the Jaguars with a 16-under.Â
