SUGAR LAND, Texas - Freshman
James Bould turned in 2-over 215 to tie for fifth place in HCU's Colin Montgomerie as the Nicholls State University men's golf team finished its second tournament of the spring.
Competing as an individual, Bould's second-round score of 68 (-3), which was fueled by five birdies, tied for the second lowest round in the event. He shot a 74 in the opener and a 73 on Tuesday to notch his first career top-10 finish.
Nicholls was tied for 10th after Monday's action but moved up to two spots after the final round. The Colonels totaled an 899 (305-296-298) to finish four strokes ahead of Texas Southern for eighth.
Jack Moro and
Peyton Canter led the team lineup with 224s, with
Chase Pochylko close behind at 225.
Kyle Traub and
Zachary Morvant each shot a 232. Canter and Traub both carded rounds of 72 (+1).
New Mexico Junior College won the event with an 866 and Elias Pettersson took medalist honors with a 210.
