KERRVILLE, Texas - Nicholls State University sophomore
Jack Moro sits in a tie for 14th place following the opening round of the 2025 Southland Conference Men's Golf Championship on Monday at Comanche Trace.
Moro shot a 2-over 74 in the first round after totaling 14 pars and one birdie. As a team, Nicholls carded a 306 to place a stroke back of Southeastern and New Orleans.Â
Chase Pochylko also had one birdie for the Colonels and finished with a 76.
James Bould and
Kyle Traub each shot 78, with Traub leading Nicholls with four birdies.
Zachary Morvant also drained a birdie and finished with an 80.Â
Augusta's Bo Blanchard headed the field at 6-under and was one of five golfers to shoot under on the day. Augusta also led the team leaderboard with a 3-under 285.
