KERRVILLE, Texas - After steadily improving each round, the Nicholls State University men's golf team placed ninth in the 2025 Southland Conference Championship held at Comanche Trace.
Following Monday's 305, Nicholls fired a 298 on Tuesday to move up two spots on the leaderboard before finishing up Wednesday with a 297. With a 901, the Colonels finished five strokes ahead of New Orleans and six in front of Southeastern.
Jack Moro led Nicholls on Tuesday with an even 72 and was followed by
Chase Pochylko's 73. Pochylko shot 4-under on the front and had five birdies for the round. In the final 18 on Wednesday, Pochyklo repeated his 73 while Moro shot a 74.Â
Moro ended up with the highest finish on the leaderboard at 21st place with a 220, while Pochylko tied for 23rd with a 222. Freshmen
Kyle Traub and
James Bould carded 230 and 231, respectively, while
Zachary Morvant shot a 240.Â
Augusta took the team title with a 843 and their Bo Blanchard headed the field with a 200.Â
