MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. - James Bould and
Jack Moro finished at 2-over to lead the Nicholls State University men's golf team in the three-day Sandestin Collegiate Classic, held at the Raven Golf Club from Sept. 22-24.
Moro improved each round, shooting 75, an even 71 and then a 2-under 69 in the final day to tie for 36th place with a 215. Bould posted the same scores with his even round coming in Day 1 before carding a 69 on Tuesday.
Alston Manne was the next highest finisher with a 218 and also had a 2-under round on Tuesday.
Kyle Traub shot a 222 while
Chase Pochylko ended the event with a 228.
Zachary Morvant competed as an individual and finished with a 232.
Manne led Nicholls with 14 birdies which was tied for the sixth most out of the 80 golfers. Traub had an eagle on Hole 11 as he was just one of nine golfers to tally an eagle.
As a team, Nicholls shot an 866 and finished two strokes behind New Orleans. After opening the tournament with a 298, the Colonels carded a 283 before wrapping up the classic with a 285.Â
Middle Tennessee won the title with a 832, helped by medalist Carter Maneth who carded a sub 200 total with a 197 (-16).
UP NEXT
Nicholls will host the LaTour Intercollegiate at the LaTour Golf Club starting on Oct. 20.
