FRISCO, Texas – Nicholls State University sophomore midfielder
Angelina Rispone was named Southland Conference women's soccer offensive player of the week as announced by the league office on Tuesday morning.
Rispone made the difference in the Colonels' 2-1 victory over SFA. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana native's third goal of the season was fired from outside the box. The ball hit the cross bar and bounced over the line to put the Colonels up 1-0. Rispone then doubled the Red & Gray's advantage with another blast from long range off a deflection by SFA's goalkeeper.
Rispone is now one of five Colonels who have scored at least four goals this season. She is the second Colonel to earn a SLC weekly honor as senior goalkeeper
Aislinn Wright was named the league's top goalkeeper in the opening week of the season.
