THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University baseball team will host Southeastern Baptist in a double header on Tuesday, April 28. First pitch from Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field is scheduled for 3 p.m.
Nicholls will be well rested as they haven't played since April 22 when they made up a game against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. The Colonels won that game 6-1 to secure the sweep over the Islanders.
The Colonels offense has been on fire as they scored 38 runs while allowing seven in a sweep over Stephen F. Austin. The Colonels effort was highlighted by a 24-3 victory as the Red & Gray plated their most runs since 2019.
Nico Rijo-Berger leads the offense with a .354 batting average while posting 45 hits and 24 RBI.
Caston Thompson (.327) leads the team with 49 hits, 32 runs and 12 home runs.
Greyson Shafer (.288) has 40 hits including 11 doubles and a team high 37 RBI.
