DAY 1 RESULTS | LIVE SCOREBOARD
MOBILE, Ala. – The Nicholls State University men's golf team shot 287 in each of Monday's rounds, ending the day 2-under and in sixth place in the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate at the Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course.
Senior
Baker Stevenson had a career round to start things off, shooting a 5-under 67 to tie for first place after 18 holes. He carded a 3-over 75 in the second round, but still led Nicholls at 2-under for the day.
Stevenson was on fire early, sinking birdies on two of the first three holes. He added four more to reach 6-under but bogeyed the final hole of the round. In the second, he had four bogeys, including one double, and two birdies to shoot a 75.
Freshman
Loic Maigret shot under par (-1) through 36 holes as well, firing rounds of 72 and 1-under 71.
Connor Campbell finished the day at +1 (72-73--145) and
Jack Lee was two strokes behind (76-71).
Ben Baker (+8) bounced back from an 80 in the opening round to shoot even in the second 18.
Florida State is atop the team standings at 23-under and is followed by Louisville (-18). Both teams are ranked in the Golfstat top 40. FSU's John Pak (-11) leads the field by four strokes.
UP NEXT
The Colonels will close out the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate Tuesday with the final round. Tee time is scheduled for 8 a.m.
LaTOUR INTERCOLLEGIATE
The Colonels will return to the LaTour Club on Monday, Feb. 18 for the two-day LaTour Intercollegiate.
