THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University softball team posted a 3.77 grade point average for the spring semester, increasing its cumulative GPA to 3.52.
The Colonels had 23 student-athletes record a 3.0 or above, with 12 registering a perfect 4.0 GPA. The following players finished with a 4.0 for the semester.

Monica Meadows, led the Colonels to a conference opening series win at HBU before the remainder of the season was canceled due to COVID-19.
"We are really proud of this team's effort for high marks in the classroom," the staff said. "High academic expectations have been the goal of this program from the first team in 2012 and these efforts remain to continue on with this 2020 squad that really nailed it. The coaching staff will always continue to recruit sound moral athletes who possess the capacity to maintain daily academic discipline. One day they all will graduate and many companies will greatly benefit from hiring these talented people."
The Colonels graduated three seniors from the 2020 team - Dares, Marino, and
Samantha Mracich.
