THIBODAUX, La. - The Nicholls State University men's golf program is set to host 12 visiting teams for the EllendaleIntercollegiate, held at the Ellendale Country Club on Monday and Tuesday (March 28-29) in nearby Houma.
Nicholls had hosted its annual tournament at LaTour the last few years but shifted to Ellendale due to Hurricane Ida. The course is par 72 and totals 7,120 yards.
Coach
James Schilling will have all eight golfers participate in the field with three competing as individuals. The lineup will be
Ryan O'Neil,
Braxton Kuntz,
Mickael Najmark,
Jace LeJeune, and
Liam Bryden.
Jaime Suarez Morales,
Martin Trochu, and
Victor Le Gal are three of the 15 individuals to make up the 80-golfer field.
Joining the Colonels are Central Arkansas, HBU, Incarnate Word, Murray State, New Orleans, North Alabama, Prairie View A&M, Samford, Southeastern, Stephen F. Austin, Troy, and UT-Martin.
Nicholls is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Colin Montgomerie Intercollegiate two weeks ago in Houston. Kuntztook third just a week after O'Neil won medalist honors at the Gulf Coast Collegiate.
