THIBODAUX, La. - Nicholls State University women's soccer has signed Eastern Washington University transfer Allie Jones for the 2022 season, head coach
Robert Podeyn announced Wednesday.
Jones played her freshman season as a wing defender at EWU, a NCAA Division I member of the Big Sky Conference. She appeared in three matches for the Eagles and logged a total of 40 minutes on the pitch.
"Allie is an incredible player who is a strong attacking central midfielder," Coach Podeyn said. "She was asked to play out of position at Eastern Washington, but her passion is as an attacking player where she found a lot of success in high school and club soccer."
Jones played four years at Centennial High School in Pueblo, Colorado where she was a three-time Conference Player of the Year, three-time Conference Offensive Player of the Year, and a two-time All-State player. She was inducted into the Centennial High School Hall of Fame as it's programs all-time leading scorer with 73 career goals and 46 career assists.
She also played four years of ECNL Soccer where her team, Real Colorado, won two state titles, a region title, and participated in nationals as one of the top club teams in the country.
"Allie is an accomplished player who will bring a lot of experience to our midfield," Podeyn said. "She has an incredible work rate and drive and wants to succeed and win. We look forward to seeing Allie on the field next season.
Jones will enter Nicholls in August as a sophomore.
