FRISCO, Texas -- Nicholls State University junior defender
Lauren Andre was named Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Andre scored three goals for the Colonels during their weekend homestand, and she is the first Colonel to earn a SLC weekly honor since 2019.
On Friday, the Houma, Louisiana native scored her first career goal against Jackson State via a free kick from outside the box.
In Sunday's win over Texas Southern, Andre scored twice. First, she was in the right place at the right time to score off a rebound to put Nicholls up 1-0 and in the 35th minute, she converted another free kick from outside the box.
