JONESBORO, Ark. – The Nicholls State University men's golf team finished a handful of strokes above par each round while
Chase Pochylko claimed a top 20 finish at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate.
Nicholls shot 293 in the first and third rounds and a 292 in the second to total a 14 over, tying for 11th place. The colonels ended the event a stroke behind Texas A&M commerce while edging southeastern by one stroke. Host Arkansas State won the tournament at 14 under.
Pochylko started with an even 72 before knocking off a stroke in his next two rounds. His team best 70 on Tuesday was helped by five birdies as he turned in a 213.
Jack Moro totaled a 218 and also had a round under par shooting 71 to wrap up Monday's action.
Ethan Marx also had a 71 for the opening round.
Arkansas State Thomas Schmidt took medalist honors with a 197, shooting at least 5 under in each round.

Nicholls will host the annual LaTour Intercollegiate on Oct. 21-22 at the LaTour Golf Club.
