THIBODAUX, La. – The Nicholls State University soccer team fell in its first two out of state league contests at HCU and Lamar.
GAME ONE: Nicholls (0) @ HCU (2)
In Friday night's action in Houston the Colonels and Huskies were scoreless until the 35th minute when Danika Etter found Alexa Huerta scored her third goal of the season to put HCU up 1-0. The Huskies second goal came in the 54th minute when Emma Smith found Olivia Rossman for her second goal of the season.
The Colonels took 10 shots with five on goal.
Lauren Andre,
Mylea Riggle, and
Ryan Griep took two shots apiece.

Peyton Bastine,
Avery Mondoux, and
Alexa Deatherage each took one shot. Senior goalkeeper
Megan Cook faced 13 shots and tallied five saves in the physical match that saw 21 fouls.
GAME TWO: Nicholls (0) @ Lamar (4)
In Sunday's contest in Beaumont, the Colonels were fighting early as the Cardinals' Isela Ramirez scored her first goal of the season four minutes into the action. Lamar ended the first half with a goal by Anneliese Switzer (44:35) and began the second half with Ramirez's second goal of the day (46:45). In the 83rd minute, Ronke Abudu scored to put Lamar up 4-0.
The Colonels were outshot 18-10 with Bastine taking four shots, Mondoux taking two, while
Lillie Mazur,
Nevaeh Garris, Barrett, and Andre took one apiece. Senior goalkeeper
Megan Cook made 10 saves. The match saw both teams take two corners while Nicholls committed 13 fouls compared to Lamar's 12.
