THIBODAUX, La – After the longest road trip of the season, the Nicholls State University volleyball team will begin a three game home stand that begins on Thursday, Oct. 31 against Southeastern at 6:30 pm. The Colonels will host Texas A&M – Commerce on Saturday, Nov. 2 and McNeese on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
The Colonels enter the week 7-13 overall and 2-7 in league action after falling to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and UTRGV. Southeastern enters the week boasting an 18-game winning streak and the Lions have only surrendered five sets in SLC action.
The Red & Gray offense is spearheaded by
Leah Linares Castro who has 217 kills, followed by
Tierney Terrell (149) and
Makila Billingsley (135). The attack is paced by setters
Ava-Claire Calais and
Evelyn Trivino Espinosa who has 311 and 240 assists.
The Colonel defense is anchored by libero
Kenley Nonato who has 273 digs, followed by Terrell (176), and Calais (113). In the middle,
Jordan Gamble is a force at the net with 55 blocks while
Khara Morton and Billingsley add 39 and 24 blocks respectively.
