THIBODAUX, La. – The Southland Conference announced Monday the women's soccer schedule for the 2024 season, with the Nicholls State University Colonels set to begin the Kristy Helmers era in September.
 
The Red & Gray is one of two schools that will begin the SLC slate with three road contests. First, on Sunday, Sept. 22 they will travel to Natchitoches to battle Northwestern State, before crossing state lines for the first time to take on HCU (Sept. 27) and Lamar (Sept. 29).
 
The Colonels' first home league match will be on Friday Oct. 4 against UIW, followed by home bouts with Texas A&M-Commerce (Oct. 11) and Southeastern (Oct. 13).
 
Nicholls' longest road trip of the season will be on Friday, Oct. 18 to battle new SLC foe UTRVG in Edinburg, Texas. The Colonels will return home to host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and returning league opponent Stephen F. Austin, who was a member of the SLC from 1984-2018.
 
The Red & Gray will conclude regular season play on the road against McNeese in Lake Charles. The 2024 Southland Soccer Championship will be held on Nov. 5-10 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
