THIBODAUX, La. – Led by first-year head coach Brent Haring, the Nicholls State University baseball team announced Thursday its 2025 game schedule which features 26 contests at Ray E. Didier Field.
 
Nicholls will host two non-conference three game series and three midweek contests in February with opening day on Friday, Feb. 14 to begin a series against Northern Illinois. After the opening series, the Colonels will host University of Nebraska at Omaha and LSU followed by a series against Arkansas – Little Rock and a matchup with Tulane.
 
The Red & Gray will be seeking their third consecutive Southland Conference Championship. The unit's first road action of the season will be a three-game series against McNeese in Lake Charles (Feb. 28-March 2) followed by a pair of road games at Louisiana Tech in Ruston (March 4-5).
 
After a home series against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (March 7-9) the Colonels will play at Tulane in New Orleans (March 11) and against Mississippi State in Biloxi, Mississippi on March 12. The road trip will end with a series at new SLC foe UTRGV in Edinburg, Texas (March 14-16).
 
Following the lost trip of the season, Nicholls returns home to face UIW (March 21-23) before heading back to Biloxi to battle Southern Miss (March 25). The Colonels will close the month of March against Northwestern State in Natchitoches on March 28-30.
 
The Colonels open the next month with home games against Rice (April 2) and HCU (April 4-6) followed by road contest at LSU (April 8). The game in Baton Rouge will be the first of five consecutive road games with stops at Lamar (April 11-13) and Jackson State (April 15).
 
After a home series against Stephen F. Austin (April 17-19) the Red & Gray will play seven road consecutive road games beginning with in state foes Southern (April 22), Louisiana (April 23) and Tulane (April 29). The road swing will end against New Orleans following a stop in Mobile to take on South Alabama.
 
Nicholls will conclude the regular season with a home game against Jackson State followed by a home series against Southeastern. The SLC Tournament will be in Hammond on May 15-18.

For the third consecutive season, Nicholls will play in the Hancock Whitney Classic in Biloxi, Mississippi. For the Colonels will play Mississippi State followed by a matchup against Southern Miss. They previously appeared as part of the Hancock Whitney Classic in 2024 against Southern Miss and in 2023 against Mississippi State. Tickets for the games will be on sale beginning Thursday, Jan. 16.
