THIBODAUX, La. – Nicholls State University outfielder
Greyson Shafer was named Southland Conference Baseball Hitter of the Week the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Shafer had an outstanding week at the plate as he posted a .421 batting average while having eight hits including three doubles and three home runs. He also generated nine RBI and scored seven times.
In Saturday's victory, the Boise, Idaho native had three hits and five RBI highlighted by a grand slam. He also had three hits and recorded two RBI in Sunday's win to help the Colonels complete the sweep.
After the incredible week at the plate, Shafer holds a .294 batting average with 40 hits and a team high 37 RBI.
