THIBODAUX, La. – Due to incoming weather, the Nicholls State University baseball team will begin its three-game series against Northwestern State University on Saturday afternoon in a double header beginning at 2 p.m.
 
The action from Natchitoches will begin on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. followed by another game approximately 30 minutes later. Sunday's first pitch will be at 1 p.m.  All three contests will be live streamed via ESPN+.
 
Earlier in the week, Nicholls (11-15, 5-7 SLC) tallied 13 hits enroute to its first victory over a ranked opponent since the Colonels took down No. 1 LSU during the 2023 campaign as they took down No. 13 Southern Miss, 8-5. Last weekend the Colonels took two games against UIW to claim their fourth home series victory.
 
In the other dugout, Northwestern State (15-9, 7-5 SLC) enters the weekend on a two-game winning streak after taking down Centenary College earlier in the week. Like the Colonels the Demons won their previous weekend series as they took two of three road contests at New Orleans.
