THIBODAUX, La. – Coming off of a record-setting win against Alcorn State, the Nicholls State University women's soccer team will turn to its attention to Southland Conference play as the Red and Grey face Lamar on the road at 7 p.m. in Beaumont.
The Colonels (2-3-1) scored early and often in their most recent match, setting a program record with 10 goals in a shutout victory over the Braves. Only two days later, the Cardinals (4-4) faced the same opponent, earning a 13-0 victory over Alcorn State at home.
Lamar enters Friday's contest with a 3-1 home record. Through three matches at home, the Cardinals have outscored opponents 24-0. Nicholls has struggled on the road early in its 2015 campaign and has been outscored 10-1 through three games. The Colonels will look for their first road win in Beaumont this weekend.

This year the Colonels boast a balanced offensive attack, with nine different players scoring a goal through six games. All-Southland First Team selection
Spencer Valdespino leads the squad with four goals, while
Mie Elvestad,
Hannah Savoie and
Miranda O'Neil each have two. Nine players on the Nicholls squad have recorded an assist, led by Coates, Werenskiold,
Erin Blackwell,
Ainsley Pratt and
Francesca Curteis, with two apiece.
Alexus Aviles and Jordan Mulnix spearhead the Lamar offense, with seven and six goals respectively. Mari Olastuen paces the Cardinal squad with five assists through eight matches.
Nicholls has played all three of its goalkeepers this season, with
