NEW ORLEANS – The Nicholls State University women's tennis team earned its second consecutive victory with a 4-0 triumph over NAIA No. 19 Xavier (La.) Tuesday afternoon at the XULA Tennis Center.
No doubles were played in the match and the Colonels dominated singles play, winning all four completed matches in straight sets.
Lingfeng Gu took on former Colonel Emma Kranendonk on the No. 1 court, winning 6-3, 6-2.
Clemence Krug and
Mariia Kozachok picked up wins on the No. 2 and 3 courts, respectively, by the scores of 6-4 and 6-3. The match was clinched by
Ambika Pande with a victory on the No. 5 court.
UP NEXT
The Colonels will play their next match in New Orleans as well, taking on the UNO Privateers in a conference match on Friday (Feb. 17). First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
