Colonel women’s tennis falls at Northwestern State, 7-0

NATCHITOCHES, La.  – The Nicholls State University women's tennis team dropped its second consecutive match on the road, falling to Northwestern State, 7-0, on Sunday afternoon.
 
The loss puts Nicholls at 6-4 on the season and 1-3 in league play. Northwestern State improves to 9-3 and 2-0.
 
The Colonels dropped the doubles point, falling on courts 2 and 3. However, the top duo of Clemence Krug and Lingfeng Gu held a 5-4 lead at No. 1 when play was suspended due to NSU clinching the point.
 
In singles, all but one match ended in straight sets. At the No. 5 line, Changwei Wei battled against Vladislava Litvinova and was outlasted, 6-4, 5-7, 10-7. On the No. 1 court, Gu lost a close first set, 7-6, before falling in the second.
