THIBODAUX, La. -- After earning a solid split in the team's Southland road opening series at Abilene Christian this past weekend, the Nicholls State University baseball program (9-10, 6-2 SLC) heads back to Louisiana for the final matchups of March against league foe Houston Baptist (3-6, 1-7 SLC) in a four-game weekend series, squaring off with the Huskies from Friday, Mar. 26 through Sunday, Mar. 28 at Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field.

• The Colonels are projected to finish ninth in the Southland Conference, per the league's preseason poll.
• Nicholls returns six players from last year's batting order (Dane Simon, Xane Washington, Alex Galy, Erick Hernandez, Dillon Belle & Alec Paz) along with three starting pitchers (Trever Kilcrease, Nick Heckman and Tyler Theriot) and three primary relievers (Joe Taylor, Peter Holland & Beau Balado).
