THIBODAUX, La. -- After clinching an even 2-2 split of a tough non-conference stretch over the past week, the Nicholls State University baseball program (13-14, 8-4 SLC) shifts focus back to league competition as the Red & Gray host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (6-21, 2-9 SLC) across a four-game weekend set, locking swords with the Islanders from Friday, Apr. 9 through Sunday, Apr. 11 at Ben Meyer Diamond at Ray E. Didier Field.

• The Colonels are projected to finish ninth in the Southland Conference, per the league's preseason poll.
• Nicholls returns six players from last year's batting order (Dane Simon, Xane Washington, Alex Galy, Erick Hernandez, Dillon Belle & Alec Paz) along with three starting pitchers (Trever Kilcrease, Nick Heckman and Tyler Theriot) and three primary relievers (Joe Taylor, Peter Holland & Beau Balado).

Following the four-game series against the Islanders, the Red & Gray dive headlong into Southland Conference play with a pair of back-to-back road series at Lamar and Northwestern State over the course of the next two weekends, initially battling the Cardinals from Friday, Apr. 16 through Sunday, Apr. 18 in Beaumont, Texas before turning attention to the Demons from Friday, Apr. 23 through Sunday, Apr. 25 up in Natchitoches, La.
