HAMMOND, La. -- Following a hard-fought split against UIW this past weekend, the Nicholls State University baseball program (18-25, 13-15 SLC) aims to orchestrate a major upset in the team's annual clash with rival and current league leader Southeastern Louisiana (26-15, 18-10 SLC), kicking off the four-game set with three contests across Friday, May 7 and Saturday, May 8 up in Hammond, La. before returning to Ray E. Didier Didier Field back in Thibodaux for the series finale on Sunday, May 9.

• Seth Thibodeaux currently resides in his 11th season at the helm for the Red & Gray, sporting a 284-281 (146-156 SLC) overall record with the Colonels.
• The team boasts seven seniors and two graduate students: 1B Dillon Belle, INF Alex Galy, RHP Trever Kilcrease, OF Alec Paz, RHP Peter Holland, LHP Beau Balado, RHP Colin Kramer, C Greg Anderberg and INF JD Davis.

• The Colonels are projected to finish ninth in the Southland Conference, per the league's preseason poll.
• Nicholls returns six players from last year's batting order (Dane Simon, Xane Washington, Alex Galy, Erick Hernandez, Dillon Belle & Alec Paz) along with three starting pitchers (Trever Kilcrease, Nick Heckman and Tyler Theriot) and three primary relievers (Joe Taylor, Peter Holland & Beau Balado).

UP NEXT
After wrapping up the rivalry weekend with Southeastern Louisiana, the Red & Gray turn their attention to the team's final road series of the season, heading west to Lake Charles, La. for a four-game set at McNeese slated for Friday, May 14 through Sunday, May 16.
